The Russian Oncology Research Center and the National Oncology Center conducted a joint oncological examination in the Ganja-Gazakh region.

From November 5-8, medical examinations for the early diagnosis of cancer were conducted in the Ganja-Gazakh region with the organizational support of the National Oncology Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, jointly with the Regional Development Public Association (RDPA) of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
According to the press service of the National Oncology Center, during this period, comprehensive examinations were conducted on 1,838 people from various backgrounds, 28 of whom showed some symptoms of cancer.
Due to the current situation, urgent measures were taken. These patients were closely monitored and invited to the National Oncology Center for a more comprehensive examination.
On November 9, Professor Aziz Aliyev, a surgical oncologist in the Head and Neck Tumor Department of the National Oncology Center, performed complex oncological surgeries on three patients in Ganja. These local surgeries were performed as part of a screening program, and medical specialists who participated in the event provided significant assistance in visualizing the training.
As a culmination of this series of events, a scientific and practical conference on "Multidisciplinary Approach to the Diagnosis and Treatment of Malignant Tumors" was held on November 10 at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Ganja, with the support of the National Oncology Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Regional Development Public Association of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
More than 150 oncologists, gynecologists, endocrinologists, urologists, and surgeons from Ganja, Goranboy, Goygol, Samukh, Gadabay, Dashkesan, Shamkir, Tovuz, Aghstafa, and Gazakh districts participated in the conference.
Before the event, guests from the National Oncology Center visited the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in Ganja and laid flowers at it.
Azad Karimli, Chief Oncologist of the Ministry of Health and Chief Physician of the National Oncology Center, opened the conference with opening remarks. He noted that in recent years, thanks to the dedicated attention and care of Azerbaijan's leadership, the National Oncology Center has become a leading and respected institution in the South Caucasus for providing specialized oncology care and coordinating scientific, methodological, and preventive work.
Professor Aziz Aliyev, a surgical oncologist in the Head and Neck Tumor Department of the National Oncology Center spoke about the country's achievements in this area and noted that the country's current dynamic economic development has positively impacted the development of all social sectors, including healthcare. Aziz Aliyev emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev pays special attention and care to the development of healthcare. He noted that the construction of the National Oncology Center's surgical building was supported by the President of Azerbaijan. First Vice President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva played a significant role in the establishment of the Center's Children's Oncology Clinic.
Speaking about the importance of surgical treatment for head and neck tumors, Professor Aziz Aliyev emphasized that the necessary conditions created at the National Oncology Center under the leadership of Academician Jamil Aliyev, along with the innovative innovations and modern equipment installed, allow these surgeries to be performed in accordance with international standards. A. Aliyev assessed the recent increase in the number of patients from around the world seeking treatment at the National Oncology Center as a result of many years of hard work and a welcome trend.
The conference featured presentations by the Center's physicians on the topics of "Modern Surgical Treatment of Head and Neck Tumors," "Modern Methods of Early Detection of Breast and Cervical Cancer," "Modern Principles in the Surgical Treatment of Gastric Cancer," "A Modern Approach to Uro-Oncological Diseases," "Modern Endoscopic Examination and Treatment Methods for the Respiratory and Digestive Organs," "Oncological Diagnostics and a New Era of Treatment: Nuclear Medicine," and "Modern Principles in Drug and Radiation Therapy for Malignant Neoplasms." Presentations reflecting a multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment and screening were met with interest.
Comprehensive events held in the Ganja-Gazakh region with the support of the National Oncology Center and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's Regional Development Association were met with great satisfaction by residents, who viewed them as significant government support for the strategy for implementing social and medical protection for the population in the regions.
