All conditions are currently available for the most difficult and complex operations in healthcare facilities in Nakhchivan. The level of knowledge of Nakhchivan doctors and the situation in the field of oncology here are satisfactory.

These thoughts were expressed by Professor Aziz Aliyev, a surgeon-oncologist at the Head and Neck Tumors Department of the National Oncology Center, in an interview with AZERTAC.

He said: “We will try to exchange experience with Nakhchivan doctors 2-3 times a year. Doctors from the National Oncology Center will come to Nakhchivan and perform operations together with Nakhchivan doctors. Nakhchivan doctors will also come to Baku and increase their experience.”

Aziz Aliyev noted that the conference held in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with the participation of highly qualified medical staff of the National Oncology Center was also important in terms of experience exchange: "We discussed the exchange of experience and information in this area and drew attention to the importance of early diagnosis in oncological diseases. In addition, for two days we examined patients and performed surgical operations at the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Hospital. Those operations were successful." The professor said that today the National Oncology Center serves as the main center coordinating scientific, methodological and preventive work on specialized oncological assistance provided to the population of the republic. The Center's employees hold mobile sessions on improving oncological services every year. The vast majority of the republic's leading specialists in clinical and experimental oncology, radiation diagnostics and radiation therapy are concentrated in this Center.
