Aziz Aliyev: The 1st International Medical Forum created favorable conditions for doctors to exchange experience

We are coming to Nakhchivan for the third time with the team of the National Oncology Center. The purpose of our current visit is to participate in the First International Medical Forum held for the first time in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Currently, about 50 medical teams of the National Oncology Center are in Nakhchivan to participate in the forum.
These words were said by the rector of the Baku branch of the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, surgeon-oncologist, Professor Aziz Aliyev in an interview with the Nakhchivan bureau of AZERTAC. The professor said that holding the forum has a very important goal. A favorable opportunity has been created here for doctors to exchange experience. The forum also creates conditions for discussing protocols and, most importantly, for the treatment, examination and surgical operations of people suffering from various diseases. Today, together with local doctors, we performed 3 successful oncological operations on the head and neck areas of patients. We also conducted examinations and treatments for more than 10 patients.
The Doctor of Medical Sciences said: “I would also like to especially note that since the hospital is built at the highest level and equipped with modern equipment, we conduct our operations very comfortably. We would like these events to be continuous, and we, as the National Oncology Center, would also participate in such events.”
Aziz Aliyev noted that today the National Oncology Center functions as the main center coordinating scientific, methodological and preventive work on specialized oncological assistance provided to the population of the republic. The center’s employees hold mobile sessions on improving oncological services every year. The vast majority of the republic’s leading specialists in clinical and experimental oncology, radiation diagnostics and radiation therapy are concentrated in this center.
The rector also drew attention to the fact that reforms in the healthcare system are part of the global strategic program for the development of a stable and social infrastructure of our country, emphasizing that the implementation of measures in this direction began under the leadership of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, and on his initiative, medical institutions and hospitals were built and put into operation in all regions of Azerbaijan. The Great Leader also attached great importance to the training of national medical personnel. On his initiative, a state program was developed for the training of doctors in Europe, America, Russia, and Turkey. President Ilham Aliyev is also successfully continuing this policy. The Azerbaijan State Institute for Advanced Training of Doctors named after Aziz Aliyev has been renovated on a modern basis. The National Oncology Center and the National Ophthalmology Center named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva have been reconstructed, new buildings have been built and equipped with the most modern equipment. In order to expand relations with prestigious educational centers of the world to improve medical education in Azerbaijan, the Baku branch of the First Moscow State Medical University named after Sechenov was established in 2015. Teaching at the university is conducted by professors and teachers in two areas - in the specialty of Medical Work and the Pharmaceutical Industry. This forum also plays an important role for our doctors. It allows them to get acquainted with modern treatment protocols and exchange experiences with their colleagues.
Noting that a protocol on joint cooperation was signed between Nakhchivan State University and the Baku branch of the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov within the framework of the First International Medical Forum, Rector Aziz Aliyev said that this creates comprehensive conditions for the development of relations between higher education institutions. Thus, the protocol reflects issues such as support for the implementation of joint projects, presentation and exchange of information, organization and joint participation in scientific and practical conferences, forums, seminars, interaction with public organizations and the expert community, sending and receiving for practice or internship, and other types of cooperation.
"Regarding my impressions of Nakhchivan, I can say that every time I come to Nakhchivan, I witness great development here and we are deeply happy about this development. The positive progress in the medical field is especially obvious. This gives reason to say that the human factor is always at the forefront in Nakhchivan," said Aziz Aliyev.
